Wayne Williams
- Vice Chairman - Organization / Event Promotion.
“Stickman,”
reflective of his physique, is the nickname bestowed
upon Wayne Williams, Vice Chairman of Friends of
Whitehouse Montego Bay. Born to the parents of
Hector Williams and Lorene Richards, Wayne and his
younger sister, Michelle, grew up as proud residents of
the Whitehouse community.
At the tender age of 21,
Wayne made his first trip to the United States of
America with the intent of a short holiday vacation.
After 21 years in the states, Wayne not only worked for
an employer, Valentine, Inc., for 14 years but also
achieved the dream of owning his own business, Stix
Enterprise, supplier of hair care products as well as
travel services.
With dual citizenship in
both Jamaica and the United States, Wayne continued to
show support of his fisherman’s community by never
letting a significant period of time pass without
showing his face.
As one who cares about
the community that had a hand in raising him and his
sister, Wayne has always maintained relationships with
the elders, his peer group and the new generation of
youth in the community.
For Wayne, the goal has
always been to return and give back to the community
that was so instrumental in shaping the man he has
become.
To further demonstrate
his gratitude, Wayne and his wife have chosen to build a
home right back in the community where it all began.
